Position Overview:

Expedia Global Partner Solutions Technology Team is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer (SDE-II) to work on one of Expedia’s fast growing private label business.

As a SDE II on this team, you will collaborate with other experienced software engineers to drive improvements to our technology, design and develop new services and software solutions, and build and track metrics to ensure high-quality results. You will have the opportunity to work with business partners, leadership and other software developers, UX designers, influence and drive product vision and lead the design of our systems. At Expedia, we are known for our customer obsession. We need your ideas and your ability to innovate and produce results as we continuously improve the customer experience across GPS White label partner sites.

Responsibilities:

  • You will design and implement highly scalable, and reliable applications and components
  • Translate functional specifications into logical, component-based technical designs
  • Innovate and implement new ideas to solve complex software problems
  • Write back-end code in Java or Scala and front-end code in Angular JS or other similar frameworks
  • Work closely with architects, product leads, developers and mentor team members
  • You will advocate for standard methodologies, great code quality, and supportability
  • Ability to work reciprocally with team members in different time zones and cultures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science with 4+ years or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with technologies like Java/J2EE, Scala, Spring, REST APIs, JSON, JavaScript, Angular JS, JQuery, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML
  • Technical competency in developing high-performance, scalable web applications in distributed architecture SOA
  • Experience with automated testing, including unit, functional, and integration testing
  • Exposure to Design Patterns, data structure and algorithms
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Driven to provide the best customer experience via technology
  • Exposure to Cloud technology (AWS or similar) is desirable
  • Experience in the travel industry is a plus.
