We invite you to join the Expedia Group Global Payments (EGP) Controls team, as a part of a team passionate about building strategic partnerships across the EGP organization. You will partner with the Consumer and Partner Payment Operations and Technology teams to improve the controls framework and will lead the Controls Team. We help ensure compliance with SOX and other regulations and are responsible for conducting risk assessments, monitoring ongoing strategic remediation activities, and focusing on how technology securely enables the business to meet strategic objectives.

What you’ll do

We are seeking an experienced leader to lead our controls program.

  • In this role, you will develop and inspire a team of Controls and Data Analysts to deliver on our vision to secure a complete and accurate controls framework.
  • You will bring strong people leadership, business acumen, initiative, drive, and an interest in technology to a fast-growing technology-based online travel industry leader.
  • You will lead a team responsible for creating, organizing, planning, and maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation and ensuring a robust internal control environment exists and is operating effectively within EGP teams.
  • You will lead the effort to improve the end-to-end internal control process by overseeing and directing the operations of the Controls Team. This includes ensuring that all key Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Controls and other department controls are operating effectively.

This position will interact with both internal and external auditors, coordinating necessary documentation for audits. The role requires communication and involvement with departmental leadership inside and outside EGP and with groups external to the organization. This position is part of a rapidly evolving organization that is a key component of Expedia's growth plans.

Who you are

  • You are able to lead, inspire, develop, and support a team of Controls and Data Analysts
  • You can use your experience in assessing and testing IT General Controls to develop and implement a program to ensure a strong internal control framework
  • You are experienced and have the ability to provide proactive input to management regarding internal controls for current business processes, new projects or products and identify ways to improve them
  • You have the ability to suggest and develop intelligent, viable, scalable solutions when controls are deemed inefficient or ineffective in addressing risks
  • You will be skilled and able to liaise with internal and external auditors, the SOX team, and controllership teams
  • Your experience allows you to provide proactive and timely coaching and counseling to team members to ensure professionalism and performance criteria are met
  • You will have a Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting or Management or other degrees with relevant work experience in a related field.  Preference is given to candidates with CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) credentials
  • You will have 5+ years of management experience in finance, operations, internal controls or audit.
  •  You have a working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404/302 requirements, internal controls, and the COSO framework
  • You're experienced with SOX and/or business process documentation and testing experience
  • You have the ability and willingness to travel (up to 30%)
