Are you passionate about applying your analytical mind to how an online travel company acquires new customers? We’re looking for a passionate and intelligent Senior Manager to provide analytical and strategic insight support to our Growth team. This position leads up SEO analytical efforts to evaluate marketing investments in the organic space with a focus in identifying and measuring opportunities that improve our positions, click through rates, and visibility.
Given the ever and quickly changing online travel marketing landscape, this position will challenge even the quickest thinking of analysts as we seek to understand how our users interact with Google and other Search Engine, how customer interacts, their intents and the experience at Hotels.com. If you are inquisitive, a self-starter, can derive actionable insights, and have shown success in using analytics to drive innovation and customer engagement, this position is for you. Your primary focus will extend well beyond pulling data and crunching numbers and will take on complex business problems by converting raw data into meaningful and actionable business insights, define growth loops and create relevant analytical views to track performance.
What you’ll do:
Deliver actionable and ground breaking marketing analytics projects optimizing across regions, channels and analytical functions such as identifying opportunities and be responsible for the development for new tools and product and content enhancements
Provide data driven decision support to the Hotels.com Leadership Team as well as regional marketing teams
Use customer data to analyse the full impact of marketing activities for multiple marketing channels across assigned points of sale, and help define growth loops in all activities encompassing SEO
Foster active relationships with internal and external marketing leadership to assess existing and upcoming business needs and participate in presentations of your analyses to a wider audience.
Collaborate with other functions, e.g., Product, Content, Marketing and other Analytics teams to drive impactful business outcomes such as understanding the value of hotel reviews (user generated content).
Share your expertise and knowledge with other analytical functions across business to develop sound strategies to deliver on future projects.
Craft and maintain performance dashboards
Mentor and lead more junior staff
Who you are:
You'll fit this role if you have:
Previous commercial use of a data mining / stat language (Python, SQL) is highly preferred, academic knowledge required
Experience in data mining, statistical modelling and business analysis with a degree in an analytical discipline (required).
Strong commercial acumen combined with an uncanny ability to extract and analyses data
Good knowledge of Tableau to automate reports
We would love you to be ambitious and have a self-responsibility for the insights that you produce
An understanding of data extraction, data aggregation and reporting of factors that drive Search Engine performance and skills in Google Big Query APIs to connect data sources together is a plus
Previous experience in translating complex data findings into clear insights, with a knack for storytelling is a major plus
How we support you:
We will give you exposure and mentorship to present your work to VPs and the CXO suite and to craft compelling arguments using your analysis to change and impact Hotels.com
You will be using and learning about the latest data platforms and tools, R/Hadoop/SAS/Tableau/Google Big Query to conduct your analysis on data not used before in the business
Working in a collaborative team environment, there is a standard set for mutual sharing and support both from your managers but also from other analytics managers in the team and the wider analytics community at Hotels.com
