Revenue Accounting Manager

United States - Washington - Bellevue


We are currently seeking a revenue accounting manager at our Expedia worldwide headquarters located in Bellevue, Washington. It is part of the Revenue Accounting team which accounts for revenues of certain Expedia Group's global brands including Expedia,, Expedia Affiliates, and Egencia. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation of basic accounting and an intermediate systems background including an aptitude for working with different reporting tools as well as the ability to handle a large volume of data. Core functions will be heavily focused on supporting merchant revenue related accounting processes, close functions, and projects. We seek a candidate that possesses excellent teamwork skills, an aptitude for systems and a willingness to provide support to various internal business partners to implement effective processes.

What you'll do:

  • Review journal entries, supporting schedules and analyses as needed
  • Participate in month-end processes, including reporting and reconciliations
  • Work with various teams to help ensure the accuracy of the various merchant revenue streams worldwide.
  • Coordinate and prepare presentation materials for monthly meetings with stakeholders
  • Work on non-routine projects - such as process reengineering or improvements, cross functional projects, system implementation and creating processes for new points of sale, products or programs

Who you are:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to articulate clearly complex processes to audiences with differing levels of understanding
  • Revenue accounting experience including exposure to revenue recognition principles, loyalty accounting methodologies, and complex business arrangements
  • Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional network outside immediate group to ensure strong "customer" focus
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to identify potential process improvements and implement projects and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, functions) as well as the ability to work with large amounts of data 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Access & PowerPoint and Visio skills desired. SQL query knowledge and exposure to enterprise data warehouses helpful
  • Experience working with complex systems and processes required; helpful to have exposure partnering with IT/system teams to implement solutions or enhancement
  • Experience with Oracle or other large ERP system. Business Objects preferred, but not required

Work Experience and Education Guidelines:

  • 2+ years managerial experience required
  • 5+ years accounting experience preferably in a large growth oriented international organization or high tech company
  • BS degree in Accounting
  • CPA/CMA preferred
