Expedia IT (eIT) provides our company the technology products, services, and support necessary to make our customer’s travel dreams a reality.

The (eIT) Communications & Engagement Team is in search of an enthusiastic summer intern to support our day-to-day needs with corporate communications (email, intranet articles/stories, blog content, etc.), employee surveys, infographics, digital signage, and more. The intern would also assist in the creation of internal team processes and associated documentation.

What you’ll do:

  • Communicate technology products and services information to a diverse, globally dispersed audience using multiple, varied forms of media for employee outreach
  • Ensure content is accurate, functional, relevant and easily accessible to the audience
  • Develop and execute small to large scale communications plans for various project and non-project driven efforts
  • Create content catered to specific business needs such as new and existing products, technology services, employee onboarding, integrations, and more
  • Develop effective visual imagery and graphics to complement intranet and communications content
  • Work with business partners to design, develop, and distribute effective employee surveys
  • Create and consult on effective corporate presentations
  • Manage communications request intake, requirements gathering, design reviews, build sessions, and more to develop effective content
  • Maintain strong, business relationships with internal and external cross-functional business partners 
  • Identify improvement opportunities utilizing employee feedback and metrics

Who you are:

You’ll fit this role if you have:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or a related field
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise your workload in a dynamic environment 
  • Ability to synthesize complex processes into simple and engaging language
  • A results-orientated, enthusiastic approach, able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Analytical skills and the ability to use data to make decisions
  • An enthusiasm for helping customers/partners/clients achieve business results
  • Proficiency working with the MS Office Suite, Adobe, or other relevant drafting, editing, graphic suites would be beneficial, but not essential
