The Product Design Team at Egencia, an Expedia Group company, creates business travel products and services loved by over 8 million users. Our simple, seamless travel management platform makes it a snap for the world’s largest companies to manage their complex business travel needs. Egencia’s global Product Design team is seeking a Product Designer Manager with a passion for travel and technology, and capable of leading a growing team.

The Product Designer Manager will manage the EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST, AFRICA region (Paris, Gurgaon) of Egencia’s global design program. The EMEA design team is responsible for shipping best-in-class experiences for our Air, Car, and Rail Shopping; Expense; Checkout; and our Travel Management suite of products. Individual responsibility for this role is very high, but the impact and reward of leading these teams is huge.

Product Designers Managers at Egencia:

  • Establish expertise necessary to guide and participate in design across small, large, and varying types of product concepts (ex: e-commerce shopping psychology vs. efficiency needs for company management tools).
  • Work with their design team to develop, articulate, and deliver a product vision that helps our business and our users co-exist in success.
  • A passion for building Relationships; leverages Relationships to gain Influence; uses Influence to grow personal / team Mastery across different domains.
  • Grow a strong design research program built on top of qualitative user observation, and quantitative data sources.
  • Mentor individuals, and groups of designers, on framing, rationalizing, and defending design decisions.
  • Possess strong written and spoken communication skills; can articulately describe decisions, and can express appropriate details to varying audiences.
  • Lead and facilitate design workshops, planning sessions, and other user-centered design activities.
  • Possess a functional knowledge of front-end markup (HTML/CSS).

Product Designer Manager requirements:

  • Candidates with a background in travel (such as airline or GDS experience) will be given preference.
  • Fluent English speaker, and an effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a senior, lead, or manager of design.
  • Experience working in an e-commerce company; preferably shipping multiple products and lines of business to users.
  • Develops expert knowledge of industry, competitive, and complementary products.
  • Experience working in a global culture (as it relates to meetings, travel-for-work needs, and working across languages, borders, cultures).
  • Delivers results in a test-and-learn, iterative design environment.
  • A bold portfolio of product and interaction design work.
  • Up to speed on modern design software (team currently using Sketch, Invision, Framer, HTML/CSS).
