About You:

Hotwire is seeking an email marketer to grow and manage our customer engagement programs globally. Our ideal candidate will be able to execute, manage and optimize our established programs, as well as build new-to-Hotwire campaigns. You will drive programs that focus on customer lifecycle, retention and repeat, and improve the execution of our customer life-cycle and trip-cycle messaging. We’re also seeking someone that is a fast-learner who demonstrates a passion for structured experimentation and loves scaling business success through customer engagement.

Day-to-day, you’ll have ownership of the setup, maintenance, and review of reoccurring and triggered email communications and deployment of promotional emails. You will have experience developing and deploying a robust email test and learn program. Experience with Oracle Responsys or similar large consumer facing email programs is a plus. You will join a diverse and enterprising team and will need to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors to meet the objectives of the broader business.

Role Purpose:

Optimize the creation and execution of production elements of a portfolio of customer engagement and marketing campaigns across email points of sale for multiple lines of business.

General Responsibilities:

  • You build email campaigns, database selection, HTML presentation and quality assurance of all campaigns.
  • You troubleshoot issues related to HTML templates, list segmentation and other aspects of email execution, as required.
  • You develop, launch & optimize a broad range of email programs that encompass customer life cycle and customer trip cycle.
  • You set creative and developmental direction for in-house and external Creative and Development teams, including campaign objectives, messaging, intended audience segments and customer touchpoints.
  • You work collaboratively with Marketing, Design, Program Management, Marketing Analytics, and outside vendor teams to identify and implement new marketing programs based on data-based business cases.
  • You continually develop, measure, and optimize campaign and portfolio testing programs.
  • You develop and implement scalable, repeatable and comparable methods of measurement and performance tracking. You automate standard data reporting methods and perform ad hoc analyses to evaluate ongoing and periodic performance.
  • You collaborate with internal groups to identify new opportunities to more effectively reach and engage our consumers.


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, quantitative or analytical discipline is required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in direct/database marketing or customer relationship marketing program development and/or implementation.
  • You have developed outbound, B-to-C email marketing programs for at least 1 year.
  • Understanding of email marketing operations, technology, testing techniques and platforms.
  • Strong analytic and quantitative skills - ability to use data to develop and measure effectiveness of marketing programs.
  • You are comfortable with Excel and capable of manipulating data to perform both high level and more granular analysis.
  • Experience with development and implementation of complex testing plans is a plus.
  • Experience developing campaigns within Responsys or a similar large email program is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to influence others.
  • You are self-directed and a self-starter.
