That’s why the Employee Communications & Engagement team is looking for a Communications Manager, playing a key role in positioning Expedia Group as a place where exceptional people, with a passion for tech and travel, are inspired and motivated to do their best work.
 

As an exceptional writer and editor, you will also need strong planning and influencing skills to keep your stakeholders informed and aligned. You will enjoy getting to the heart of complex or ambiguous briefs, bringing them to life in fun and clever campaigns that engage the audience.
 

This role will also support our executive storytelling in partnership with the Head of Employee Communications, developing content for executives. You should therefore be comfortable working across a range of formats and channels, adapting your tone as needed.

What you'll do:

  • Planning and producing content for a range of stories, designed to delight our global employee base and drive employee engagement
  • Work with the Head of Employee Communications to support executive communications for key Expedia Group leaders, including development of quarterly town halls, company-wide communications and content for presentations, events and social media
  • Develop relationships with functional partners and internal stakeholders at all levels, consulting with them on how best to achieve their objectives and managing their expectations
  • Build an understanding of our audiences, and segment content as appropriate
  • Lead research and analysis projects, and use findings to develop initiatives that improve audience engagement with internal campaigns and communications
  • Ensure all content is approved, on-brand, and consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice
  • Support strategy development of various employee-facing events and be available to participate in and support major company achievements
  • Support Employee Comms and Engagement measurement, sharing results with relevant team members to determine communications and channel efficacy and influence decision-making
  • Participate actively in the wider Expedia Group communications community, sharing plans and proactively seeking opportunities to align messaging

Who you are:

  • Excellent writing, communications and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Ability to synthesize data into logical conclusions and recommendations
  • Comfortable with intense, passionate working environments and tight deadlines
  • Self-guided, creative, responsible, high-energy, eager to work with other departments and independently
  • Willingness to jump in on an array of projects as requested; eager to learn new skills
  • Experience in highly matrixed organizations a plus
  • A portfolio of exceptional writing and editing, with work in other media a plus
  • 3+ years of Employee/Internal Communications experience in a corporate or agency environment; travel and/or tech industry experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working closely with executive or leadership roles, particularly in highly innovative, fast-moving environments, with a proven record of results
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
