Legal Counsel, Procurement & Real Estate

Expedia Group is seeking a smart and pragmatic lawyer with demonstrable contract and general commercial experience to join its extraordinary legal team. You will take on a broad range of subject-matter within the procurement space and will have responsibility for leading your own agreements, working closely with the business and other partner teams. You will join the Shared Services legal team and report to the Senior Corporate Counsel, EMEA Procurement and Real Estate, supporting all Expedia Group brands in EMEA on both procurement and real estate transactions. This is a dynamic, challenging and fun environment where you can be creative, collaborative and do your best work as part of a highly respected legal team.

What you’ll do:

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of procurement contracts, including marketing and media agreements, professional services agreements, software licenses and SaaS agreements, as well as associated orders and statements of work
  • Providing general legal counsel and advice to the procurement team and business partners on a range of commercial and contract issues
  • Managing real estate transactions (leases, serviced office agreements, construction and fit-out and other ancillary agreements)
  • Drafting, updating and training on form contracts, contracting playbooks and standard methodologies
  • Collaborating with key internal partners such as privacy, security, tax, and treasury

Who you are:

  • LLB or equivalent
  • Qualified solicitor with experience in private practice or in-house
  • Experience developing, drafting, negotiating and advising clients on commercial contracts
  • Experience with data protection law
  • Ability to handle a wide range of matters with minimal supervision

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, in-house legal environment
  • Experience drafting and negotiating technology agreements, including addressing data protection, data security and intellectual property considerations
