Analytics Manager – Media Pricing and Yield

The members of the Yield team in Expedia Group Media Solutions think numbers make the world go round, or at least in the part of the world where we work. The bigger the data the better! We also believe there is a strong correlation between the complexity of a problem and the level of happiness we feel when we solve it.

You would be a key member of the team. We are working to drive the business forward, faster and farther than anyone else; driving the success of the business by solving problems and trying things unheard-of in the industry. Our team is focused on driving increased yield through an ever-changing mix of analysis projects. Some of the projects we need your help with involve analyzing, reporting on, and refining the performance of our products, sales, and pricing. You can play a meaningful role in that success.

Buzzwords that you can put on your resume include: revenue management, yield management, dynamic pricing models, Excel spreadsheets, SQL databases, digital advertising, inventory forecasting and whatever you can convince us is worthwhile to work on.

You’ll be applying your skills across the Expedia network of websites. Most people don’t realize that the Expedia Group family includes Expedia, Hotels.com, Hotwire, ebookers, Travelocity, Orbitz, CheapTickets, Wotif and other sites, and operates more than 100 branded points of sale in more than 60 countries.

What you'll do

  • Being the initial contact for various internal customers from the EMEA and LATAM regions.
  • Educating sales teams on yield techniques to improve their selling performance
  • Investigating, testing, and helping build new systems to automate yield strategies and integrate seamlessly within sales process
  • Transferring yield and pricing knowledge effectively to technical teams working to integrate into various systems
  • Developing and deploying suite of reports to inform sales team about product inventory availability
  • Improving management/dashboard reporting, identifying key performance trends of indicators such as volume, ad product mix, pricing and sell-through for partners
  • Tackling role of power user and authority for our yield management systems, providing support and training to promote the usage of data output by key partners
  • Responding to ad hoc data requests and conducting analysis to provide valuable insights to partner groups, including sales, product, operations and finance
  • Communicating and working effectively across various levels of internal partner

Who you are

  • BA/BS in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar analytic field
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL and/ or relational databases
  • Consultative, analytical approach towards delivering business results and process improvements
  • Capacity to provide high level of customer service to partners at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical experience and business insight
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Strong hands-on experience in online advertising, pricing and/or yield management
  • Experience working with online advertising platforms such as DFP a plus
