Payment Recovery Apprentice - Internship

Expedia Group is looking for talented Payment Recovery Apprentice to join the Springfield team the summer of 2019.  We are looking for dynamic and technically fluent leaders who are passionate about travel and people development. You will adopt the Expedia vision of revolutionizing travel thru the power of technology and be adept at translating that vision into front line deliverables. You will use data to drive intelligent business decisions. You will be comfortable challenging the status quo, be forward thinking, open to change and able to use creative analytical skills to ensure long term business objectives are met. Additionally, we need strong communicators, that are passionate about doing what it takes to get the right things done the right way, in a timely manner.

What You’ll Do

The EVC Recovery Apprentice is responsible for the day-to-day operations of resolving overcharges to Expedia Virtual Cards. You will work directly with our global hotel partners, various Expedia internal teams, and our credit card providers to ensure recovery of overcharged funds. Primary communication will be via email, but some telephone communication may be required.

This position will verify that all payment activity from the system of record is consistent with authorization requests and resulting charges. You will ensure compliance with all regulatory and procedural requirements.

Who you are:

  • Currently enrolled in a college graduating in 2019 or 2020
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week starting June 3, 2019 through August 9, 2019
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal direction, alone or in team environment
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a high production environment, ability to visualize, articulate, and solve payment problems
  • Permanent Authorization to Work in the USA without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work 15+ hours a week August 12th through October 11th (flexible schedule)
  • One year of reconciliation, research, or accounting
  • Strong PC proficiency including but not limited to All MS Office applications and experience with ERP Software (Oracle)
  • International accounts payable experience

Your Apprenticeship will include:

  • Hourly pay of $14/hour
