Scrum Master

Introduction

We're looking for a Scrum Master who has an enthusiasm for Agile, goes over and above the co-ordination of sprint ceremonies, strives to improve the efficiency of the development team by continuous process improvement, and escalates issues that are impeding the team. A strong understanding of team dynamics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships are key to the role.

You'll be joining a fun, dedicated team of scrum masters, reporting to a Senior Agile Practitioner.

What you’ll do

  • Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, plannings, and other software development related meetings
  • Identify and remove impediments or conflicts that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal
  • Coach and mentor agile team members on agile standards and best practices; ensure consistent practices across the workstreams
  • Assist product managers in keeping a comprehensive groomed product backlog
  • Maintain and report against relevant metrics
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving visibility, and radiating information
  • Utilizing the takeaways from each sprint to support the effective development of teams
  • Engaging with fellow scrum masters to find opportunities for improvement across delivery processes

Who you are

You’ll fit this role if you have

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Detailed knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Strong experience working in an agile environment
  • Certified Scrum Master/Scrum Practitioner or relevant experience
  • Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
  • Must have exceptional communication, organization, and team building skills; articulate and able to steer a meeting with presence
  • Displays a calm attitude during difficult situations
  • Must be "self-motivated" as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
  • Willingness to learn and support various Agile frameworks
