Sr. Finance Manager

Expedia is seeking an experienced Sr Finance Manager to play a meaningful role on the Brand Expedia Customer, Markets & Capital (CMC) Finance team. Within CMC, you will be part of the team providing FP&A support to the Transport (Air & Car) product team, reporting to the Director of FP&A, Transport, Loyalty, and Customer Experience.  A successful candidate will be required to: 1) deeply understand the economics and profitability of the Transport lines of business, 2) go beyond the numbers and understand the underlying operational dynamics of this lines of business, and 3) provide business insights and raise opportunities and risks, based on the understanding of both financials and operations.

What you’ll do

  • Support/perform deep analysis of product economics and profitability.
  • Leverage relationships with business partners and perform investigations to understand the operational dynamics of Air and Car.
  • Identify and communicate risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze business trends and investigate variances versus expectations. Prepare and present readouts in weekly trading meetings.
  • Support/perform the financial assessment and post mortem analysis (when applicable) of different strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with global team to develop Financial Plan, Forecasts, and reporting. 
  • Build and maintain monthly/quarterly management reports to deliver in-depth analysis of Brand Expedia performance.
  • Identify and implement improvements to make financial and operational reporting better, faster and easier.
  • Work cross functionally to support initiatives that add business value and drive bottom line growth.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested by business and Finance partners.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in finance, business, economics, or a relevant quantitative field is required.  MBA a plus.
  • 6+ years of work experience in a similar analytical role.
  • Passion for using data to drive better decision making.
  • Proven qualitative and quantitative financial skills including modeling and management of large datasets.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financials and forecasting processes.
  • Results driven and able to strike the right balance between detail orientation and grasping the big picture.
  • Clear, compelling and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Works well in a dynamic team environment with an appetite for challenge, experience with navigating a matrix environment preferred.
  • Hyperion/SmartView required and Business Objects experience a plus.
  • Advanced English skills for candidates whose English is not their native language.
