Expedia Group is seeking a smart and pragmatic lawyer with experience of advising on advertising and marketing, ecommerce and regulatory issues. You will work on a broad range of advertising and marketing matters dealing with the Hotels.com and Expedia brands in EMEA as the key legal contact working closely with the marketing and other partner teams.

You will join the Expedia Group legal team based in London and report to a Senior Director in a dynamic, challenging and fun environment where you can be creative, collaborative and do your best work as part of our highly respected legal team.

What you’ll do:

  • Reviewing and advising on EMEA advertising and marketing legal requirements applying to Expedia and Hotels.com brands and websites and related products (e.g., accommodation services, air, car)
  • Effectively managing outside legal counsel across Europe, including working to budgets
  • Building up a precedent database of marketing and advertising information and training businesses on key concepts
  • Collaborating with key business contacts and internal partners such as privacy, security, tax, and treasury and implementing marketing strategy for the Hotels.com and Expedia brands
  • Monitoring local and European advertising and marketing regulations that impact the Hotels.com and Expedia brands in EMEA

 
Who you are:

  • A lawyer qualified to practice in the UK with experience in either a fast paced in-house environment or in a reputable top regional or national law firm advising in advertising and marketing issues, preferably on a pan-European basis.
  • Able to learn and integrate into complicated and dynamic businesses, advising on a combination of legal and business issues and have strong communication and legal skills to facilitate becoming a trusted partner of the business team.
  • Someone who has common sense with a can-do attitude, able to assess key risks while maintaining strong attention to detail and technical skills and displaying a practical and confident commercial approach to problem solving and managing legal risk
  • Fluent in English and preferably at least one other European language.
  • Ability to handle a wide range of matters with minimal supervision
