We're looking for a highly capable, motivated Software Engineer in Test I to join us in building world-class customer-focused software. Our team delivers integrated software solutions allowing us to provide white glove services to Business travelers. Egencia's customers and partners contact us for assistance as they travel around the world. During Business trips, many things can change, and a couple of hours could mean the loss of a deal or not making it to an important meeting.

You would be an essential part of a growing team using the newest technology to improve our customer experience across web, voice, mail, and mobile platforms, empowering millions of Business travelers to enjoy their perfect trip. In this role, you will be a quality leader, influencer and have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on our entire technology stack.

You will have:

  • Passion for constant improvement in quality of product and uncovering hard to find scenarios and bugs. Attention for detail and knack at finding edge cases.
  • A genuine interest in automated (as opposed to manual) testing.
  • Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment, collaborating with developers and product owners.
  • Ability to define test plans, identify the test cases that can be automated and collaborate with developers to automate feature testing where appropriate.
  • The ability to communicate effectively to executive audiences; effective communication can manifest as presentations, rapid prototypes, demos or emails.
  • 2+ years of experience in delivering automation.
  • Experience working with DevOps tools and continuous integration delivery pipelines.
  • Knowledge of build and deploy process (CI/CD) using tools like Jenkins and familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with technologies like Java, Groovy, HTML, and Javascript.
  • BS and/or MS in Computer Science or a related field.

Responsibilities:

  • You continually add business value to agile teams through proactive participation in all the phases of agile development especially in envisioning, design and definition meetings.
  • Excellent knowledge of QA automation methodologies, processes, and tools and exposure to build, execute, and debug automated functional tests especially using selenium.
  • You help identify tier 0 and 1 smoke and regression tests that needs to be executed for each release.
  • You help set up and maintain test automation and execution framework (pairing up with developers when needed).
  • You implement automated software tests for integration and end to end especially UI.
  • You help identify the impact of the features developed by your team and/or external teams, and work with impacted external teams to educate/understand the impact and come up with release strategy.
  • Pair up with team members to identify and mitigate software risk through exploratory testing and have experience in practicing TDD and BDD.
  • You drive RCA/Postmortem for the bugs/incidents to identify patterns and suggest the improvements to prevent the issues.
