About the Creative Department:

We´re an international, multi-disciplinary group of creatives with a deep curiosity about the world and an undeniable passion for travel. As part of the Global Brand and Integrated Marketing team, we’re responsible for imagining, developing, and delivering high-calibre, multimedia marketing programs to engage and inform our travellers (B2C) and property owners/managers (B2B). We’re the dreamers and doers behind global and regional marketing campaigns, always-on channels, and technical initiatives that include content automation and scalability. The Mission:

HomeAway is seeking an Email Designer to support our email channel and our growing email programs. This global position is based in London and will work directly with marketing teams spanning HomeAway’s entire brand portfolio, including 6+ brands across multiple global markets.

What you´ll do:

  • You will design engaging and effective email templates consistent with HomeAway’s brand standards and creative guidelines.
  • You will build, QA, and deliver HTML templates; ensure all creative assets are optimized for delivery and performance.
  • Design, develop, and code new, mobile-optimized templates to support new content as needed
  • Troubleshoot display, rendering, and delivery issues (across various browsers, clients, devices).
  • Build a Design Language with a modular design approach in mind.
  • Handle a “library” of email designs so content is accessible for other designers to use within our creative department.
  • Support development of new email campaigns, programs, and processes.
  • Maintain awareness of email and marketing trends and make recommendations on optimization best practices.
  • You work effectively in an ever-changing environment where multi-tasking is essential.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Information Design, Digital Media Design or other visual arts.
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates originality, innovation and multi-disciplinary thinking.
  • At least 3 years of e-mail marketing and/or web production experience.
  • Responsive design perspective with a mobile first mentality.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch.
  • Strong knowledge and experience designing for and coding HTML & CSS.
  • Basic understanding of standards-driven JavaScript
  • Strong web asset production, interactive design and typography skills with an understanding of web design standard methodologies pertaining to e-commerce.
  • Should be well versed in the limitations of e-mail clients and how to design attractive and effective e-mails within those constraints. Experience in Eloqua or Marketo a plus.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
