Position Overview:

The Search and Suggest team powers the search experience on Expedia by providing highly responsive auto-complete suggestions and search results to guide travelers towards the most relevant travel content and products.

We utilize enormous amounts of data and machine learning algorithms to personalize the experience for each user. Small improvements in our algorithms can have a huge impact on customer experience and Expedia's bottom line, and this leads us to run numerous test-and-learn experiments each month.

Our focus is on building high performance, scalable and resilient systems that provide search results with high accuracy. Our team is a group of independently driven people working in an agile and collaborative environment.

As a Technical Product Manager II, you will humbly lead complex projects and deliver simple solutions. You will drive and contribute to medium to large-scale development schedules and roadmaps from design to release, making appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market and clearly communicating goals. We are looking for smart, high-energy, creative problem solvers to join our technology team.   • You will own technical product delivery for multi-functional projects for multiple delivery teams while driving team velocity.
  • You will craft and maintain user stories that clearly define functionality or feature targets and acceptance criteria
  • You will collaborate across UX teams, product teams, technical partners, development teams, and other partners to understand and document business requirements and design innovative technical solutions that create customer value.
  • You will communicate regularly with internal/external partners impacted by the program or feature being implemented.
  • Excellent project management skills, including active mitigation of risks to scope and schedule, status updates to various audiences, management of trade-offs to drive satisfactory completion of product/project, and facilitation of planning and governance activities with team.
  • You will seek and implement continuous improvements into all project processes, including defining the appropriate methodology to motivate teams and track progress.
  • You will cultivate a collaborative team environment, setting an example for other TPMs and delivery teams.
  • You will participate in the definition of engineering standard methodologies within the project team


  • You bring relevant experience building project plans, requirements specifications and performing data analysis
  • Experience delivering production features with partner teams
  • Ability to collect and turn business requirements into user stories, epics and technical requirements and drive discussions among multiple business and technical teams to scope and schedule effort
  • Experience with CI/CD framework and related tools, cloud computing, traffic management and analysis, project management tools, web technologies and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) highly desired
  • Experience collaborating with Developers, Technical Product Managers, UX Designers, Product Managers along with other partners from broad cross sections of organizations.

Experience and Qualification:

  • At least 3+ years as a TPM and 5+ years in a technical domain
  • Delivery of a minimum of 1-2 large, multi-functional products/projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience
