Sr. Commerce and Strategy Analyst at Vrbo, an Expedia brand

This particular role will be responsible for supporting our EMEA Retail team. The Retail team is responsible for delivering the financial goals. They do this by running programs with cross functional teams, by setting up metrics and frameworks to handle our vacation rental markets, and by finding opportunities in the business to contribute to our bottom line. They also advocate for localization needs of EMEA markets with the global product team. As a Sr. Commerce and Strategy Analyst you will partner with them to achieve those goals by providing a broad spectrum of support including deep-dive investigative analyses, business modeling, strategic analysis, opportunity sizing, and working with developers and data engineers to set up data pipelines and tracking.
What you’ll do:
•You will partner with internal stakeholders – both technical and non-technical – to answer complex business questions
•You will partner with key stakeholders to prioritize asks based on the highest potential and dedicatedly drive initiatives from there
•Through data mining and analysis, you will apply and implement hypotheses and recommendations of things we should change, leading to experiments that will confirm or deny those hypotheses and ultimately improve operations
•You will be a Vrbo data guru - you will be the point of contact for all data questions and insights in your respective area
•You will work with the broader Analytics Platform team in an Agile model to implement self-service data products that will allow the Ads teams to access accurate information directly and easily
•You will monitor metrics daily, quickly identifying areas of concern and proposing analyses and/or corrective actions
•You will participate in weekly team meetings to ensure insight-based decision-making
Who you are:
•You have confirmed experience in data analytics.
•You have proven experience working with SQL & Tableau
•You have intermediate business modeling skills using Excel & an intermediate level of big data tools/languages (Hadoop, Hive, Spark).
•Python or other coding language is a plus.
•You have passion for number crunching, logical problem solving and intellectual challenges
•You have ability to structure/work on data exploration problems, with innovative approaches and creative solutions, demonstrating strong reporting and data visualization skills
•You are comfortable with uncertainty by prioritizing effectively and flexibly handling changes
•You are able to work across different business units/countries to communicate findings company-wide
•You have strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
