Vrbo’s internal agency is on the lookout for a junior copywriter who’d enjoy an exciting opportunity writing primarily for our display channel, addressing both travellers and homeowners. We’re looking for someone with a flair for punchy headlines and calls-to-action that inspire clicks, so the right candidate should have confidence in their writing and an eagerness to learn about display advertising.
You’ll work closely with a team of designers to fulfill the business’s needs. You’re a creative at heart who’d be comfortable speaking up in a brainstorm or offering a fresh perspective on previous creative.
We value a strategic mindset, as the Display pod seize every opportunity to test and learn. As such, a genuine interest in what makes people tick, and an ability to analyse results through a creative lens will serve you well.
Respond to display briefs: With the guidance of more senior writers and support of the core creative team, you’ll fulfill the needs of the business by producing on-brief, creative display ads that get results.
Content strategy: Over time, and along with the core creative team, you’ll ensure that all projects are approached with a smart, strategic mindset. Whether it’s a brief for a brand new template or concept, or a copy or design test, you’ll learn how to innovate, formulate a hypothesis, and measure success.
Creative ideation: Beyond the work that’s briefed in to you, you’ll brainstorm to explore the possibilities of your channel.
You have a degree in Journalism, Communications, Advertising or a related field
You have some experience in writing role required, copywriting for marketing or advertising is preferred
You are skilled in writing clearly and concisely
You are motivated, highly organised, flexible and detail oriented
You have strong communication skills and some experience of presenting
You are comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
