EPS Finance Manager – Compliance

In this role you will play a key part in ensuring proper risk management for EPS operations.   This role establishes high standards for business controls and compliance oversight, as well as partnering with various EPS stakeholders (e.g., Commercial Finance, Technology, Product, Data Security, Legal) to make recommendations on process improvements, risk management, commercial contract interpretation, and more.

What you’ll do

Risk Management

  • Ability to plan, scope and execute risk assessments; as well as advise process owners on the development and implementation of controls and corrective action plans for resolution of such vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct reviews of operational and technical processes against policies, control frameworks and regulations to identify control vulnerabilities and risks
  • Facilitate strong collaborative working relationships and cross-functional partnerships for joint-problem solving
  • Document risks and associated risk ratings for tracking and reporting in the organization.  

Compliance Initiatives

  • Conduct feasibility reviews and impact analysis related to new or amended commercial agreements and associated services to identify compliance requirements and control solutions
  • Perform business and data analysis to evaluate existing business/operational processes and frameworks (including SOX, Cloud, and Privacy); recommend, design and oversee implementation of effective, compliant, and scalable operational processes
  • Develop and deliver ad-hoc or formal training related to controls and compliance, as necessary.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for Internal/External Auditors for planning, escalations, and remediation
  • Continuously review current Expedia policies, standards and external sources for changes impactful to our controls
  • Ad-hoc projects as required

Who you are

You’ll fit this role if you have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • A minimum of five years of experience working in corporate environments with experience in controls design and evaluation, risk management, compliance, accounting, finance and/or auditing
  • Big 4 Qualified Chartered Accountant a plus, 
  • Professional “can do” work ethic, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to simplify and solve complex problems
  • Ability to partner effectively with stakeholders from diverse functional areas & backgrounds to embed best practice within the business
  • Ability to work both independently as a self-starter and as a team member
  • Committed to pro-actively building effective working relationships across the organization
  • Receptive and adaptive to a rapidly changing business environment while maintaining focus on key business goals and objectives
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience of handling large and complex data sets
  • Strong verbal and written communications, able to influence for optimal decision-making, and present to executive leadership
  • Experience with the following systems a plus: Visio, Tableau, SQL and Business Objects
