The Director, Business Development for Greater China position we are seeking to fill is with Expedia Partner Solutions (EPS), the B2B partnership brand of Expedia Group. We reach out across many sectors – from retail travel agents, financial institutions and airlines to loyalty organizations, online travel agents and corporate travel management companies – using our expertise to fuel our partners’ growth.


What you’ll do:

  • Formulate an executable and sustainable sales strategy and plan for the Greater China markets to further fuel growth for the EPS business
  • Lead a small team of Business Development Managers/Directors for the Greater China region, providing them with guidance and support in building and prioritizing the sales pipeline with the goal of exceeding agreed sales targets
  • Be the local market expert and go-to person for Greater China markets’ trends and competitive insights, and where business gaps exist, work with relevant internal stakeholders towards addressing these gaps to unlock blockers for growth
  • Form relationships with key industry influencers and partners in the travel space and develop a strong brand presence for EPS in top trade events and publications
  • Work with Finance, Legal, Partner Connect and Global Customer Operations colleagues throughout the sales process for a smooth end-to-end contracting and implementation cycle for the new partners
  • Work with Optimization, Analytics and Account Management teams in ramping up revenue generated from new partners within the shortest time possible
  • Interact and establish relationships internally with other Expedia brands to maximize the value of the overall Expedia Group business.

Who you are:
 

You’ll fit this role if you have

  • Relevant Industry and Sales Management Experience:  Mature leader with a minimum of 10 years of senior sales management experience within the travel and/or online/e-commerce sector
  • Business Acumen:  Demonstrate strong understanding of the Greater China travel markets and their emerging business trends, with the ability to quickly translate them into executable strategy and opportunities that drive EPS new business growth
  • Passion for Results:  Drive high standards for individual, team, and organizational accomplishment; tenaciously work to meet or exceed challenging goals; derive satisfaction from goal achievement and continuously strive to be better
  • Communication and Influencing Skills: Ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas to various stakeholders, and influence stakeholders to take actions towards common business goals
  • Talent Management Experience: Possess people management qualities to coach and motivate individuals and teams towards achieving business and personal goals
  • University Degree / MBA or equivalent
  • Ability to travel (>50% of the time)
