The Expedia Global Merchandising team leads the promotional strategy and execution for the Global Marketing Organization supporting Brand Expedia. The global merchandising function is responsible for connecting suppliers (hoteliers, airlines, etc.) and travelers through valuable and compelling offers. These promotions and initiatives require a deep understanding of traveler behaviors globally and the supply needed to motivate. The team works cross-functionally with marketing channel, creative, social, supply, product, production, and engineering teams as well as the P&L owners for the brands and regions to execute on the global merchandising strategy.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Merchandiser to manage, execute, optimize and aid in the strategy development and deployment of site sale events and promotions. The primary goal of this role is to develop and manage promotions and initiatives that will deliver on key financial metrics, as well as help delight customers while addressing the needs of key suppliers.

What you'll do

  • Lead and execute the site merchandising and promotional strategies for specific campaigns. This role will manage all implementation aspects internally, as well as coordinate projects with brand P&L owners, marketing channels, supplier management, creative and production and Ad sales teams.
  • Drive continuous improvements in site visitor growth, shopper conversion and deal production through in-depth analysis, experimentation, consumer-facing tool development and A/B and multivariate testing.
  • Determine and optimize mix of promotions across marketing channels by analyzing and reporting on key performance metrics.
  • Work with the supplier management team to support supplier contracts and merchandising opportunities, as well as proactively source inventory to meet consumer demand.
  • Review and analyze promotional results and make recommendations and execution plans for future promotions based on these results.
  • Manage all tactical details related to promotions - examples: develop all necessary terms and conditions, manage copy/design requests and site placement implementation, provide promotional materials to marketing partners and overall analysis of the promotion.

Who you are
You’ll fit this role if you have

  • Merchandising/marketing and promotional activity experience in consumer e-commerce, preferably in the travel industry
  • Proven record of business analysis-driven and fact-based decision-making
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects and/or responsibilities
  • Dedication to continuously improving the customer experience through relevant and valuable promotions
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills that engender trust and inspire action
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of Excel with experience in pivot tables, as well as math, lookup, logic, and statistical functions.
  • Experience utilizing Adobe SiteCatalyst and Discover, Business Objects and DoubleClick or similar analytical or ad serving tools.
