At Expedia Lodging Services we are building a back-office platform used by a diverse range of users from large hotel chains to small mom-and-pop motels. Tens of thousands of customers are using our product daily. This allows us to craft experiences, gather feedback, and learn quickly about what works and what doesn’t.
UX designers partner with UX researchers, content strategists, data scientists, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create the highest value for our customers. Our design systems team is ready to support you, so you can focus on exploration and iteration. Your role is to synthesize all the feedback from the partners into interactions that make our diverse customers confident in working with our products.
You will be part of Analytics, machine learning, and revenue design team visualizing data, identifying user needs using qualitative and quantitative data, translating them into concepts, all the way to the production-ready pixels.
What you’ll do
Design and document interactions with existing UI components
Craft and tell stories that frame the problems and illustrate your solutions
Advocate for the user needs by interpreting qualitative and quantitative data
Contribute to the design system
Lead design swarm, sprints, and coach other designers to improve their skills
Who you are
Ability to design hi-fidelity production-ready mockups and prototypes
Experience collaborating with engineers and product managers
Built digital products’ UX and UI from concept to release, followed by optimization
A portfolio that shows thought process and learning along the way
A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science or a related field
Demonstrated experience in designing usable web-based interfaces for complex internal systems
Demonstrated understanding of visual design, specifically in data visualization
Demonstrated experience in designing for diverse groups of people (internationalization, localization, accessibility, etc.)
