Overheads Finance Manager (12 months maternity cover)

Job Description

This is a key position on the Hotels.com Finance team, instrumental in ensuring robust and effective forecasting, reporting and management of Hotels.com Overhead costs.

Interacting with the Hotels.com Leadership Team, Hotels.com Finance and several Corporate Finance functions, the role holder will be a qualified accountant with strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.

This role is a 12-month maternity cover contract.

What you'll do

  • Reporting: ensure delivery of monthly financial management information and high level commentary for distribution at an Executive level
  • Lead quarterly forecast and annual planning cycles for Overheads, providing insight to establish appropriate targets.
  • Business partnering with VPs and project leaders to ensure budgets are maintained, and latest business plans are incorporated.
  • Lead the headcount approval process for Hotels.com, including running monthly meetings with the Hotels.com leadership team
  • Continue the rollout and management of non-tech capitalized costs
  • Liaising with Expedia Corporate Finance teams to ensure correct and consistent classification of overhead costs as per US GAAP
  • Numerous ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed, incl the constant drive to improve & automate the reporting of overhead costs

Who you are

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or equivalent) or MBA
  • Strong academic background – Degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent required
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, business modelling and analysis; Accounting experience a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills having had frequent interaction with senior management and other professionals, both Finance and non Finance.
  • Experience in implementing effective processes and delivering projects independently
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a dedication to data integrity
  • Advanced Excel skills, Powerpoint experience; Hyperion experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
  • Interest in learning new tools, processes and systems
