We are searching for a Senior Product Manager to join Vrbo's Marketplace Design product team to partner with our data scientists and engineers in crafting models and data products that will power the next generation marketplace for vacation homes.

As Senior Manager, Marketplace Economics and Signals, you’ll both oversee a team and directly contribute to the development and evolution of a suite of products that safeguard Vrbo's marketplace. We're passionate about creating great vacation experiences for travelers and home-owners. This role will ensure those great experiences aren't damaged by bad actors. You will solve challenges such as optimizing economic levers for various market conditions, detecting fraudulent messages meant to harm our customers, identifying content that could lead to harmful outcomes for our travelers, and collaborate with leaders across Vrbo to align policy for handling these undesirable situations.

What you’ll do:

As part of the Marketplace Design product management leadership team, you will:

  • You will participate as a “player coach”,directing a team of product managers while contributing directly to the roadmap and delivery of marketplace products.
  • Taking advantage of your product management skills, you will work with a diverse, team from across the company to facilitate safe and efficient communications between partners and travelers. You will craft policies and products to detect and prevent undesirable and unsafe communications while making the vacation rental booking experience delightful.
  • You will collaborate with our retail and economics team to optimize key aspects of our commercial models.
  • You will protect our partners and travelers by driving a comprehensive program around cancellations, enabling friction free-cancellations when warranted, but protecting good actors from abuse when needed.
  • Serve as product expert combining industry analysis, end-user feedback, and development knowledge to establish a product vision and strategy.
  • As a functional manager you will evaluate team performance, assignments, and strategy, ensuring that we are developing phenomenal products, inclusive teams, and engaged employees.
  • You will Nurture effective engineering partnerships to deliver world-class solutions, serving as the product owner in an agile environment.
  • Coach team members and support their career development.
  • Contribute to our broader marketplace strategy as a member of the Marketplace Design product leadership team.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of experience as a software product management experience (eCommerce experience preferred) leading definition, delivery, and validation of new capabilities across a large organization.
  • 3+ years owning a software product roadmap which requires coordination across multiple engineering teams.
  • 2+ years in a formal manager role: Mentoring team members, evaluating performance, assigning areas of responsibility, and working with other managers to align on focus and priorities.
  • 2+ years experience in an agile “product owner” role: Defining and accepting work at the team level each development cycle.
  • Experience validating and quantifying impact of new features through design of effective tests.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to those unfamiliar with the topic, both in writing and in small and large group presentations.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills including creation and delivery of effective presentations
  • Experience leading complex, multi-team, products from inception through launch and improvement
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical discipline preferred

May travel up to 10% including international travel
