In this role you will play a key part in building and ensuring proper risk management for EPS privacy regulation initiatives in end to end operations. This role establishes high standards for business controls and regulatory compliance oversight through partnering with EPS and Expedia Group team members (e.g. Technology, Product, Legal) to guide our business practices as we address the evolving global data regulatory landscape.

What you’ll do

  • Identify and engage with various process owners across EPS and Expedia Group (EG) to evolve our risk frameworks for the current regulatory landscape and commercial data handling standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Work with our legal counsel to stay abreast of global regulation and help translate into actionable operational requirements or updates for our process owners.
  • Advise on relevant controls to ensure those controls are effectively designed and operating to meet obligations
  • Provide oversight for EPS regulatory obligations across brand internal teams including Product, Technology, Operations. Partner with team members across EG to resolve issues
  • Define and promote related business targets
  • Conduct reviews of end-to-end technical and operational processes to identify and address regulatory compliance risk associated to data and information management
  • Provide direction for governance practices including policies, standards and training
  • Contribute to the planning, content and execution of related training objectives
  • Represent EPS in cross-brand initiatives and forums that seek to drive consistency within Expedia Group

Competencies:

Experience and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • A minimum of seven years of experience working in global corporate environments with deep experience in privacy laws and regulations; experience in the area of governance, risk and controls (GRC) and related practices. Knowledge of data management, technology and systems a plus
  • Professional “can do” work ethic, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to simplify and solve complex problems
  • Ability to partner effectively with team members from diverse functional areas & backgrounds to embed effective practice within the business
  • Ability to work both independently as a self-starter and as a team member
  • Committed to building effective working relationships across the organization
  • Receptive and adaptive to a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications
