Manager - Trading Analytics

Analytical Team provides extensive analytical expertise to the business ranging from Product, Marketing, Customers, Pricing to Trading and Mobile. We are looking for an exceptional and passionate talent able to tackle complex business problems by converting raw data into meaningful and actionable business insights.

As a member of the Trading Analytics team you will be delivering decision support to the corporate leadership, finance and beyond. You will be monitoring and analysing business drivers, understanding market trends and work on verity of global projects. What you’ll do

  • Provide business insights using multiple data sources, partnering with cross-functional teams to investigate business trends and offer recommendation on key opportunities
  • Lead trading deep dives
  • Deliver impactful analysis based on robust economic, financial and statistical analysis
  • Develop analytical models to assess the impact of initiatives
  • Be able to navigate through multiple data sources, leverage big-data and convert raw data into actionable insights
  • Be a subject matter expert on relevant data sources & metrics
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to assess existing and upcoming business needs and maintain regular communication to update customers on progress made on projects
  • Interact directly with multiple departments across and Expedia Group
  • Function independently with a minimum of supervision, managing stakeholders and prioritizing overlapping projects

Who you are

  • An MBA or Masters degree in quantitative or technical fields, with a demonstrated amount of experience post-masters including analytical roles, is a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience in analytics area
  • Good technical skills and/or ability and willingness to ramp up very quickly: SQL (Qubole, Teradata, SQL Server), BI tools (Tableau, R Shiny), advanced analytics packages (Python, R)
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical rigor, problem solver mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interest in understanding how the business works at a systems level and a desire to learn about and evolve in a business environment strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in translating complex data findings into clear insights, with a knack for storytelling is a major plus.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly to senior level executives.
  • A sharp focus on getting results and insights using the most practical and fastest approach (even if it’s not the most challenging or interesting for you).
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and focus on generating action-oriented business insights.
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure, dynamic environment and be comfortable with a high level of ambiguity.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at a time and adhere to deadlines.
  • High energy and a can-do attitude
