Director, Technology – Omni Channel Communication

We are searching for an outstanding technology leader to lead a talented group of engineers/technologists in scaling a technology solution that powers our customer communication channels: email, SMS, push notifications and more. This channel is critical to customers as we ensure communicate with our customers when they want, in the channel they prefer, with content that is extremely useful for them. This individual will also be a key leader in the overall Marketing Product and Technology team, with responsibility for building world class marketing platforms that engage our customers in meaningful ways. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create and foster a results-focused and highly engaged team that is flexible, data-driven and able to execute well in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization. 
  • Actively oversee resource allocation to ensure delivery of services and projects, creatively use engineering team resources and budget to accelerate achievement of goals
  • Provide thought leadership and innovation regarding customer communications solutions and strategies
  • Lead the architecture of large data stores and complex system integrations.
  • Cultivate relationships with new and existing third-party vendors to augment delivery, including handling related vendor selection, contract negotiations, SOWs and budget
  • Work with the Product team & delivery partners to prioritize capabilities and product backlog in accordance with the vision, strategy, business values, dependencies and technical risk
  • Build relationships and influence decisions at all levels including executive management 

Skills & Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience leading technology organizations to deliver large scale software and data solutions with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience leading global distributed team of around 60
  • Broad knowledge of software engineering practices including design patterns, coding standards, code reviews, CI/CD build pipelines, testing, and service operations
  • Deep understanding of design, development, and operation of software at scale
  • Track record of using new technology in innovative ways to solve business problems
  • Leadership experience, mentorship and technical expertise to successfully direct a high performing and engaged engineering team of FTEs and contractors
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience·
