As a Senior Manager in the Strategic Initiatives team, you will have full ownership to drive impact and execute strategic projects and tactical initiatives across the Expedia Group (EG) Lodging Partner Services (LPS) group. LPS is a crucial organisation leads our core relationships with more than 500,000+ global lodging partners across 200+ countries. These lodging partners are our valued suppliers as well as B2B customers. This position will act as essential business partner to the LPS group to develop and execute business strategy, in close coordination with the Product team and our Brands. To be successful in this position, an individual needs to be entrepreneurial, collaborative, and own end-to-end deliverables.
You will identify and evaluate key trends, opportunities and risks
Support the leadership team, identifying key opportunities across focus areas
Frame the opportunities which have been identified into specific initiatives and obtain agreement
You will execute on identified initiatives (and LPS strategy) and monitor the business impact and status of initiatives across Expedia Group
Partner with our analytics team to build fact-based insights, drive decision making on investments and size the impact and status of initiatives launched
Will act as the change engine for ongoing innovations in the lodging business, identifying and broadly implementing the best ways of working across the organisation
Collaborate closely with the line teams required to deliver the initiatives identified (e.g. technology, operations, finance, analytics, account management teams, etc.)
Develop an in-depth knowledge of processes, products and markets and build deep relationships with applicable regional leadership teams
Serve as the voice of LPS into broader Expedia Group global projects, ensuring input and feedback from the LPS organisation is well-captured and integrated, collaborating closely with product development and other teams
Conduct industry competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions
Help facilitate the delivery of the annual plan and LPS scorecard results, delivering to the overall LPS goals
7+ years of experience, with a preference for those with a management consulting background and/ or a similar role in a leading technology company; MBA strongly preferred
Extensive problem solving and analytical skills, takes a data-driven, analytical approach, and draws upon business acumen where information is incomplete
Ability to lead, handle and mobilize multiple business partners (including top executives) and demands in a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
Ability to strategize, design and execute towards ambitious goals
Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to both executive leadership and operational teams
Results-oriented, appetite for driving business impact / execution, including in a highly autonomous role
Team player - Builds a climate of inclusion and implements inclusive strategies to bring a diverse set of perspectives to the team and solutions
Ability to work across multiple remote locations
Self-motivated and able to drive success with limited guidance
International experience and/or online or travel industry a plus
